Granted, the daily life in the city is much more dangerous than a trip to the beach. But in the city, before an accident, poisoning or homer can always call Mom or hail a taxi to go to the nearest clinic.
So if something happens over there where there is no doctor, it is better that anyone knows what to do, take control of the situation and save the day for everyone to continue having fun.
The kit
To go really well prepared, someone should be responsible for putting together a good first aid kit. It must be protected from moisture, it can be carried in a plastic bag or better, in a bowl of ice cream or plastic food container with lid. Ensure that the bottles with liquids are locked to prevent small disasters.
